CHENNAI: STR’s 2008 hit film ‘Silambattam’ is set to be re-released in theaters on February 6. The film, which starred STR in dual roles, was a box office success and marked a milestone in STR's film career.
The fact that this film is being re-released after 18 years has delighted his fans. Silambattam now joins the long list of re-releases after Mankatha, Padayappa, Ghilli and Vaaranam Aayiram among others with Vijay's Theri set for a re-release soon.
Recently, Ajith Kumar's Mankatha was re-released and has collected Rs 16 crore in Tamil Nadu, as per reports. In this regard, the 2008 hit film 'Silambattam' directed by S Saravanan and starring STR, Sana Khan, Sneha and Prabhu is joining the trend.
The songs in this Tamil-language action commercial entertainer was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers. The supporting cast of the film includes Santhanam, Nedumudi Venu, Manobala, Nirosha Ponvannan, and Kishore playing the antagonist.
