Sony Pictures to bankroll Nelson’s next

Post the success of Kolamaavu Kokila, reports were rife that the director of the film, Nelson, might team up with Sivakarthikeyan for a project.

However, now, Sony Pictures has announced they are are set to make their debut in the South and their first production venture in Tamil will be directed by Nelson. It has also been revealed that the film will be co-produced by Vishnu Induri, who is currently working on projects like Ranveer Singh’s 83 and director Vijay’s Thalaivi, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.


Sony Pictures have already bankrolled a Malayalam film titled Nine, which had Prithviraj as the protagonist. Sources say that the details regarding the cast and crew of Nelson’sproject will be announced in the coming weeks. “Nelson want new comers for lead roles and they have already started auditioning for the project,” the source said.
