Simbu to resume shoot for Mufti remake?

Despite the stay at home period, Simbu has kept himself busy and was last seen in Gautham Menon’s Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn. The latest update is that the actor may simultaneously shoot for Venkat Prabhu’s Maanaadu and producer KE Gnanavel Raja’s Mufti remake, once the lockdown eases.

Before accepting Maanaadu, Simbu had signed up to work with Gnanavel Raja for the remake of the hit Kannada film Mufti last year. Soon reports started emerging that the actor didn’t turn up for the shoot, forcing the makers to file a complaint against him and that the project was reportedly shelved.

Reports now say that the two have sorted their differences during the lockdown and will start work again.

However, it is also worth mentioning that the makers had denied the project ever being shelved, whereas Gnanavel Raja had earlier told the media that the next phase of shooting would be announced soon. Touted as an action film, the remake also stars Gautham Karthik in a vital role, while Maanaadu features Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead.
