Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan's Champion gets OTT release date

While the film received a positive response, it did not perform well at the box office.

CHENNAI: Champion, the period sports action drama starring Roshan Meka, is expected to begin streaming on Netflix from January 30, 2026, following its theatrical release on December 25. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Directed by debutant Pradeep Advaitham, Champion marked the return of Roshan Meka, actor Srikanth’s son, four years after his last film, Pelli SandaD.

Set in pre-Independence Secunderabad, the film follows Michael, a gifted footballer dreaming of a career in London, whose life takes an unexpected turn amid shifting political and social realities.

While the film received a positive response, it did not perform well at the box office.

Champion film cast and crew details

Champion was produced by Priyanka Dutt, GK Mohan, and Gemini Kiran under Swapna Cinema in association with Anandi Art Creations and Zee Studios.

The film was the Telugu debut of Malayali actor Anaswara Rajan, who played the female lead. The ensemble cast included Vennela Kishore, Kovai Sarala, Kay Kay Menon, Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, Naresh, among others.

Music for the film was composed by Mickey J Meyer, with the song Gira Gira emerging as a standout track.
