CHENNAI: Robbie Coltrane, known for his role as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, has passed away at the age of 72. Apart from Harry Potter, Robbie was also known for his performance in the British TV series 'Cracker' and James Bond films 'Goldeneye' & 'The World Is Not Enough'.

He played Hagrid, the half-giant and a dear friend to the troublesome trio, in the "Harry Potter" films.
