CHENNAI: The trailer and audio launch of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus took place in Chennai on Tuesday in the presence of prominent personalities in Indian cinema.
The evening started with Mani Ratnam and Suhasini Mani Ratnam walking into the venue followed by who’s who of Kollywood including Siddharth and Aditi Rao Hydari.
Jayaram and Parthiban enacted a few on-location experiences from the sets. Jayaram mimicked Mani Ratnam, Prabhu, Karthi and Jayam Ravi sent spectators into a wave of laughter. The making video from the film was also played. However, it was Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth’s entry into the venue that was the highlight of the evening. AR Rahman and team performed songs from the film.
Talking at the event, art director Thota Tharani said, “It has been 28 years since I worked for Mani Ratnam. But I didn’t feel the difference. It was a great experience.”
