CHENNAI: Parasakthi, which was slated to hit the screens on January 10, has landed in censorship issue. The CBFC has not issued a certificate and has suggested a total of 38 cuts. The director of the film has not agreed to the same and is planning to go to the revision committee. However, the producer of the film is yet to decide.

Similarly, Vijay's Jana Nayagan is also facing issues in obtaining the censor certificate, and the hearing will take place today at Madras High Court. This has led to the makers postponing the release of the film. These have sparked a debate around censorship, misuse of power, and the delays it carries because of which the films suffer.

Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela play the lead roles in the film. The film revolves around the students' agitation in Pollachi because of Hindi imposition.
