The latest is that Nithiin, who is producing the film under his home banner Sreshth Movies, had directly approached Nayanthara to reprise Tabu’s role from the original. Tabu had played a character with shades of grey. A tinseltown source told DT Next, “Nayanthara was clear that she wouldn’t portray a dark role which has extramarital affairs woven to the character graph.
Nayanthara was approached only after actresses like Ileana D’Cruz and Ramya Krishnan rejected the offer. Now Nithiin is in the lookout for other actresses from the south to play the role.” Meanwhile, Nayanthara has completed the shoot of Mookutthi Amman and will begin shooting for her beau Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal that will also have Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles.
Andhadhun went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2018. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film had Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.
