Talking to DT Next, Manoj said, “I have been working on a few scripts and will be directing one of them the details of which is too early to divulge. I am glad that I would be debuting for a respectable banner like Libra that has made offbeat films for Tamil audiences.” He also added that the pre-production work of the film would begin soon. “The pre-production will kickstart soon and the cast for the film will be finalised. We will be shooting in early 2021 and release the film in the same year.” Manoj refused to comment if the film was a sequel to his dad’s 1978 blockbuster Sigappu Rojakkal that had Kamal Haasan and Sridevi in lead roles. Manoj currently has Susienthiran’s Eeswaran and Venkat Prabhu’s Maanadu in which he shares screen space with Simbu.
