“I have always had a passion for acting,” she tells us. Geetha immediately adds, “I wanted to be an actor even before I was married to Kailasam (K Balachander’s son). I was a Chartered Accountant by profession and had to take care of Minbimbangal simultaneously. These things kept me on my toes and I hardly had time to think about acting.”

Talking about Kattil, she says, “When Ganesh Babu, the director told me the script, I was immediately drawn towards it. Kattil (cot), revolves around an antique cot in a village that is one of the most precious possessions of a family. The characters revolve around it and there is a lot of emotions and sentiment in the story.” Geetha reveals to us that not even once she has discussed her passion for acting with her father-in-law K Balachander.

“He was happy that I was able to juggle between family and my profession. Once I had written a poem and showed it to him. He wrote a note and said, ‘It is nice that you managed to write this wonderful poem amid your busy schedule. We have never discussed acting. In the last six years I forayed into theatre plays and that is when my passion was reignited,” she concludes.
