Karthick Naren’s Naragasooran to release on OTT platforms first

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and other reasons, the film is likely to be released on digital platforms Karthick Naren’s Naragasooran is all set to release on OTT platforms before hitting theatres, sources closely associated to the film said.

Earlier, the movie had faced financial issues forcing postponement of release. As a result, Karthick Naren and Gautham Vasudev Menon who produced the film under his banner, Ondraga

Entertainment, had a row.

The duo took to Twitter to voice their differences. It started when Gautham Menon, announced that his much-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram,was in its post-production stages.Gautham

added, “The film is close to my heart”. Karthick immediately responded to the tweet and said, “Some clarity on when this is gonna see the light of the day will be really helpful sir. And yes, this film (Naragasooran) is very very close to my heart.” 

After months of delay, Naragasooran was scheduled to release on March 27. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the release was yet again postponed by the makers. Karthick recently conducted a poll on Instagram and asked fans if he should release Naragasooran directly on OTT platforms which saw many voting ‘Yes’.

Naragasooran features an ensemble cast including Aravind Swamy, Shriya Saran, Sundeep Kishan, Aathmika and Indrajith Sukumaran. Karthick Naren made his directorial debut with the 2016 film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru which received critical acclaim.
