The actor, who was recently in the city for promotions, revealed that it was the late legendary director K Balachander and actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who inspired him to foray into films.

“My mom is a big fan of K Balachander sir’s and Kamal sir’s films. I grew up in Udupi watching Tamil films. I always wondered how the audience could watch other language content and still get engrossed. However, today I understood that if the content is good, it will reach the target audiences.”

Rakshit said that the team worked for a couple of months for the Tamil dubbed version of Avane Sriman Narayana. “Dubbing artist Sekar who dubbed for Prabhas in Baahubali and Yash in KGF has dubbed for my role in this film. I had penned this script when I was an aspiring actor and since then the script has evolved a lot, which is one of the reasons to release it across languages.” Set against the backdrop of Amaravathi Karnataka, Rakshit Shetty plays a quick-witted cop in the film.
