CHENNAI: The grand audio launch of Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan unfolded on a massive scale at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil in Malaysia on Saturday, drawing thousands of fans from across countries.
With the film expected to be Vijay’s final outing before his full-time political transition, the event titled ‘Thalapathy Thiruvizha’ turned into both a celebration and a tribute to the star’s journey in cinema.
The programme featured a mix of familiar hits and newly released songs from Jana Nayagan. Singers Vijay Yesudas, Anuradha Sriram, SP Charan and others performed through the evening. One of the most touching moments of the Jana Nayagan audio launch came when Vijay’s mother took the stage to sing the Kodambakkam Area song from the film Sivakasi, a song closely associated with the actor’s early years in cinema.
When Vijay made his grand entry, he was greeted by thunderous cheers, fireworks, and a sea of waving phone lights that illuminated the stadium. Videos of the actor walking across the stage, pausing to acknowledge fans and soaking in the emotion of the moment, went viral on social media.
According to Vijay’s team’s official X handle, the Jana Nayagan audio launch has entered the Malaysian Book of Records for recording the highest number of attendees at an event in Malaysia.
Directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani in pivotal roles.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes, while Sathyan Sooryan is the cinematographer. Pradeep E Ragav will oversee the cuts.
The film is all set to hit the screens on January 9.
