The poster featured the director and hero of the film Santhosh Jayakumar along with actor Daniel Annie Pope and Meenal Sahu in a bikini. Talking to DT Next, Santhosh said, “We wanted to have a colourful design that would set the ‘mood’ for the film. Hence we wanted a poster that would be in contrast to the prequel’s poster, which was dark.” He also clarified that the second part will be a standalone film. Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kutthu is a franchise and Irandam Kutthu is the second part, which is not a direct sequel. This is a different story with a different backdrop and will be double the laugh riot,” added the director.
The team has completed the shoot of the film. “We have also censored the film and have got a clean A certificate. The poster release will be followed by a teaser release in a few days. We will also release a few singles from the music album. Meanwhile, a stance will be taken by the government on theatres and IAMK 2 will surely be a theatrical release,” he concluded.
