Filmmaker Thakkali Srinivasan passes away

He produced several films including Varungaal Thoongal, Manasukkul Mathappu, Naalaiya Manithan and Adhisaya Manithan. As a director, he helmed movies such as Jenma Natchathiram, Witness and Asokavanam.

CHENNAI: Filmmaker and producer Thakkali Srinivasan passed away in Bengaluru due to health-related issues. His funeral is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on Wednesday (March 11), said a Maalaimalar report.

Srinivasan was known for his multifaceted contributions to Tamil cinema as a director, actor, producer and music composer.

He produced several films including Varungaal Thoongal, Manasukkul Mathappu, Naalaiya Manithan and Adhisaya Manithan. As a director, he helmed movies such as Jenma Natchathiram, Witness and Asokavanam.

Apart from directing and producing, Srinivasan also appeared in a few films, including Soora Samhaaram, which starred Kamal Haasan.

Members of the film fraternity and fans have expressed their condolences over his demise.
