Fans bowled over by Arvind’s MGR avatar

The first look of the actor playing MG Ramachandran was revealed on the former Chief Minister’s birth anniversary.

The makers of Thalaivi, the Jayalalithaa biopic on Thursday announced that the first look poster of Arvind Swami, who plays the iconic late Chief Minister-actor MG Ramachandran will be unveiled on Friday, on the occasion of the latter’s 103rd birth anniversary. Clad in a red shirt and sporting curly hair in a picture shared by the makers, we could see that the actor bears a close resemblance to the legendary figure sporting a clean-shaven look.

This is the first time that Arvind Swami has done away with his beard in six years, since his comeback in Mani Ratnam’s Kadal.A source close to the movie unit told DT Next that the actor will dub for his role across languages for this multilingual flick.Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Sailesh, R Singh, the film has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Vishal Vittal.Thalaivi will hit the screens on June 26.
