Dubai shoot for SRK-Deepika Padukone's King cancelled amid West Asia war

Shah Rukh Khan–Deepika Padukone starrer to shift key schedule to Mumbai

CHENNAI: The Dubai shooting schedule of King, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, has been cancelled due to the ongoing war in West Asia.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also features Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles. Music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The team had planned a week-long shoot in the Dubai desert starting from the 9th, including a major action sequence featuring Anil Kapoor and Suhana Khan.

Although permissions had been secured from the UAE authorities, the schedule has now been called off citing safety concerns amid the prevailing situation in the region.

According to a Daily Thanthi report, the cancelled portions will now be recreated on specially constructed sets in Mumbai’s Vile Parle.

King marks the big-screen collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, who plays a central role in the film.

The project is said to be mounted as a high-octane action entertainer in the style of Siddharth Anand’s earlier blockbusters like Pathaan and War.

The teaser, released on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, generated significant buzz, with fans expecting a stylised action drama featuring a strong emotional arc between the lead characters.
