Deepika, John not part of Vijay 65

The latest surrounding the project is that Deepika Padukone and John Abraham have been confirmed to play the female lead and the antagonist, respectively. It was also said that the project will be helmed by Nelson Dileepkumar, who is currently directing Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor.

When we contacted Vijay’s manager, he refuted these rumours. “We have no clue from where these rumours are coming from. Firstly, the director of the project needs to be finalised. There are currently three directors in contention to direct Thalapathy 65. Nelson is one among them.

Only after a discussion with Sun Pictures, we will have a confirmation on who will direct the film. Until then such rumours of Deepika Padukone and John Abraham being added to the cast should be considered

baseless,” he told DT Next. Vijay currently awaits the release of Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
