CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday congratulated veteran film art director Thota Tharrani on being conferred with the Chevalier award by the French government.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the announcement recognising Thota Tharrani, who created the celebrated portrait of Periyar displayed at Oxford, has brought great joy to Tamil Nadu.

“An alumnus of the College of Fine Arts, he is being conferred with the prestigious Chevalier title. Congratulations on his achievement that has earned worldwide admiration,” Stalin said.
