Chinmayi to contest in dubbing union elections

Last year, singer-dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada was ousted from Tamil Nadu Dubbing Association after she dragged Radha Ravi’s name (the president of the body) in the #MeToo movement. She faced it legally and the court gave an interim injunction on her ban.

The latest is that Chinmayi on Thursday, announced her decision to contest in the Dubbing Association elections against Radha Ravi for the post of the president. She will be contesting for the Ramarajyam team that’s named under the first Tamil dubbed film released in 1977 with a few other members backing her. Speaking to the media after filing her nominations, Chinmayi said, “Last time Radha Ravi emerged the winner with only 45 per cent of votes to his name. I believe that I can bring about a change in the union and fight for parity within the association.”The nominations of Chinmayi and her team will be scrutinised and a decision on accepting their nominations will be announced in a few days.
