Talking to DT Next, Aadhi shared, “We have been doing this with our group named BRIDGE. We have been identifying assistant directors and technicians, who aren’t members of film bodies. Usually, people who are members of film units associations benefit. Non-members have been finding it difficult to approach the right sources for help. We have been providing monetary aid as well as material aid across various parts of Chennai if we find it genuine enough. Meanwhile, we also ensure that we do this with necessary social distancing.”

Aadhi said that he had to use the word genuine based on his previous experiences. “BRIDGE was started in 2012. We have provided needy families with medical assistance. However, things did not go well as per plan. There were a couple of bogus cases who I do not wish to name and who tried to spoil our reputation,” he says. The actor narrates incidents about how he was at the receiving end and continues, “I was even the poster boy in a magazine with a design of a syringe next to me saying that Aadhi is into medical scams. If I were the only person involved, I wouldn’t have taken it to heart. My friends like Vishnu Vishal, Venkat Prabhu, Nani came forward and supported the cause. So, we decided to keep the group dormant and helped people who I personally know. After four years, one of my friends, sent a message in the group saying that an AD needed help. That is how we resumed. I can’t let bitter experiences bog me down.”
