The latest buzz is that the movie will be released on Netflix. When we reached out to its director Vignarajan, he said, “The production house is in talks with the OTT platform and negotiations are still on. An official announcement will be made soon.”
Andhaghaaram might join Ponmagal Vandhaal and Penguin to skip theatres and get an OTT release. The director also spoke about how the filming of Andhaghaaram began. “I started it as an independent film and had produced it on my own. Halfway through the production, Passion Studios collaborated with us,” says Vignarajan. “Later, we got in touch with Atlee and showed him the first edit which he liked and thus he came on board. From then onwards, it has been a positive experience and it feels great to have him backing us.”
Vignarajan adds, “The story is inspired by a real-life incident and the script was written in three weeks. The main element of Andhaghaaram will be its screenplay as its quite interesting with a big revelation coming at the interval. It doesn’t stick to one genre as combines elements of the supernatural with thriller.” Andhaghaaram stars Arjun Das, Vinoth Kishan, Pooja Ramachandran and Misha Ghoshal.
