The director has now announced that he would take a voluntary pay cut of 40 per cent to help the film’s producer in this corona crisis period. Cobra is produced by Viacom Studios in association with Lalit Kumar, under the banner of 7 Screen Studio.

The film, which went on floors in August 2019, was eyeing a May release this year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a few days of shoot is left to be completed. Cobra will be one of the first Tamil films to resume shooting once things get back to normal. The team will shoot across Chennai and Russia and is aiming to release the film in the first half of 2021.
