CHENNAI: Dhanush's 55th film, which is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, was officially launched in November, 2024. The film's progress faced problems due to the production issues. Earlier, it was announced that Wunderbar Films and Rajkamal Films International (RKFI) will jointly produce the project.

The latest update is that RKFI has backed off from D55 and RTake Studios has stepped in to bankroll the film. In a statement, the team said, "It is a matter of great pride and honour for both production houses to be backing this magnum opus, which is slated for release later this year. The project brings together a powerful creative team and promises a compelling cinematic experience."

Other details about the project will be unveiled by the team in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Dhanush has Kara, helmed by Vignesh Raja, in the pipeline.
