Actor Dhanush reveals major update on 'Vada Chennai' sequel

At the audio launch of Kuberaa, Dhanush officially announced that the sequel to Vada Chennai will go on floors next year (2026).

CHENNAI: There hasn’t been a single instance where fans haven’t asked for an update on Vada Chennai whenever actor Dhanush and filmmaker Vetrimaaran make a public appearance. Now, there's finally something for fans to celebrate.

At the audio launch of Kuberaa, Dhanush officially announced that the sequel to Vada Chennai will go on floors next year (2026).

Addressing the fans during his speech, Dhanush said, "You have been asking for an update since 2018. It will begin next year."

Vada Chennai, which released in 2018, follows the story of Anbu, who steps into the world of crime and allies with local gangsters to resolve their conflicts.

Apart from Dhanush, the film featured Ameer, Samuthirakani, Kishore, and Aishwarya Rajesh in key roles.

Meanwhile, Dhanush-starrer Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is slated for release on June 20. The film also stars Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh in prominent roles.

Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for Kuberaa while cinematography is by Niketh Bommi and editing by Karthika Srinivas.
