Scientists who are part of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation have come up with probably the most bizarre form of coffee yet — broccoli latte. Based on a study where they found that many adults aren’t consuming sufficient quantities of vegetables, they created a broccoli-in-powder form and decided to brew coffee from it!

Another justification they had was, “Since over one-third of all food produced globally is lost or wasted, due to ‘imperfect looking crops,’ it only made sense to use these perfectly healthy veggies in a powder form,” their social media post said. Strangely, some of the comments on a photo they put up of this on Instagram received positive comments! “If it is healthy, tastes good and can support farmers growing this vegetable, then why not?” an Australian citizen had replied.

Broccoli latte is the next to join a weird list of cappuccinos after the turmeric latte and ‘Bulletproof Coffee.’ Apparently the latter is a powerhouse of vitamins and contains a generous dose of coconut oil in the beverage.
