LS polls: Defence Min Rajnath Singh to campaign in TN on April 8,9

"PM Modi will reach Chennai on April 9 and will hold a roadshow in Chennai, South Lok Sabha constituency. He will also address the public in support of BJP candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan.

CHENNAI: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is all set to land in Tamil Nadu on Monday, April 8. According to the sources, Rajnath Singh would visit Tamil Nadu on Monday for a two-day trip.

"Singh will campaign for the BJP and NDA candidates across the state. He will visit Salem, Namakkal, Tiruvarur, Tenkasi, and Madurai to campaign for the NDA candidates N Annadurai of PMK, KP Ramalingam of BJP, SGM Ramesh of BJP, B John Pandian of TMMK, and professor Raama Sreenivasan of BJP, respectively," sources said, adding that along with the defence minister, a few other union ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, Jaishankar, and Nirmala Sitharaman, will come to the state in the coming days for the Lok Sabha poll campaigning.

Meanwhile, the State BJP unit confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the State Capital on April 9.

"PM Modi will reach Chennai on April 9 and will hold a roadshow in Chennai, South Lok Sabha constituency. He will also address the public in support of BJP candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The roadshow will start from T Nagar's Panagal Park and end at Teynampet signal," Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Sunday after visiting the roadshow venue and canvassing electorates.

She also assured the traders and the voters that the PM's roadshow would not cause any disturbance to them.
