The pet owners are alarmed following the news that animals are susceptible and might transfer the virus.

There is no evidence to prove that the pets such as dogs or cats are carriers so far, but its advised to wash the hands using soap and water after contact with the pets as it protects one from common bacteria that can pass between pets and humans.
