Tropical Cyclone Nivar made landfall near Puducherry in the early hours of November 26, bringing heavy downpour to the union territory and neighbouring Tamil Nadu. A TV news channel shared a video from their official Twitter handle claiming the flood waters breached the seashore at Marina beach. Alt News ran a fact check and found the channel had shared a three-year-old video of flooding in Chennai’s Marina beach as footage from the recent rains.
