Last week, PM Modi inaugurated the Atal Tunnel at Rohtang, Himachal Pradesh. It was reported that the 9 km-long-tunnel, built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), connects Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley. Several media outlets published an image of the tunnel, after which it was taken down. Turns out, the Devil’s Slide Tunnel, located in California was mistaken as Atal Tunnel. The official name of the tunnel is Tom Lantos Tunnel, and named after a Congressman.
