A 15-year-old girl from a village in Dindigul who was pursuing Class 10 went missing from September 15 and the parents who searched for her could not find her and they lodged a complaint with the Vada Madurai police.

The police, who registered a case, were searching for the girl. Since they could not trace her, they alerted the police stations across the state.

Meanwhile, the detailed investigation by the police found that the girl was in love with one Vicky (21) from Kuthiraikulathu Patti near Manapparai in Tiruchy district and Vicky took her to Coimbatore with a promise of marrying her.

On Wednesday evening, the Vada Madurai police received information that the duo was waiting for a bus near Manapparai and so the police rushed to the spot and secured both.

Vicky told the police that he had married the girl but the police arrested him after registering a case against him under various sections including Pocso Act citing that she was a minor girl. Subsequently, the police rescued the girl and handed over to her parents.
