CHENNAI: A 24-year-old youth died after being struck by lightning in Walajabad on Wednesday.
The deceased was Dinesh Kumar of Uthukadu village in Walajabad near Kancheepuram had completed his studies and was searching for a job. On Wednesday, while it was raining, Dinesh went to bring the cattle back to the shed and was struck by lightning. He died on the spot.
In the same locality, Rakshana (16), a Class 11 student was also struck by lightning and suffered severe injuries. Rakshana was admitted to the Walajabad government hospital and from there was shifted to the Kancheepuram GH. The Walajabad police have registered a case.
