CHENNAI: VCK general secretary Sinthanai Selvan on Friday asked actor Vijay’s TVK to focus on addressing people’s issues instead of attempting to give political lessons to their party.

He ridiculed the TVK leaders’ efforts to teach politics to the VCK as a ‘joke’ of the year. “This approach (of trying to advise VCK) is wrong,” Sinthanai Selvan remarked in response to Vijay’s comments about the VCK during TVK’s first GC meeting. Sinthanai Selvan noted that the VCK had turned the marginalised sections of society from a mere vote bank into a political force.

The VCK leader attacked ‘turncoat’ Aadhav Arjuna for his remarks, claiming that the DMK was thwarting the growth of the VCK. Sinthanai Selvan rejected it as Arjuna’s personal animosity towards the DMK. He added that the DMK had played a crucial role in helping VCK establish itself in TN.
