CHENNAI: Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Friday constituted a 10-member election campaign committee to oversee the party's preparatory work for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The committee will be headed by party general secretary N Anand and includes senior leaders Aadhav Arjuna, K A Sengottaiyan, A Parthiban, B Rajkumar, KV Vijay Dhamu, SP Selvam, Pichairathinam Karikalan, M Niyaz and J Catherine Pandian.

Announcing the move, Vijay said the panel would plan and coordinate election-related activities at the State, district and constituency levels. "With the Assembly election ahead, an election campaign committee is being formed to conduct consultations, campaign meetings and related activities across all 234 constituencies," he said.

He further urged party cadre to extend full cooperation to the committee. The announcement comes days after Vijay formed a separate election manifesto committee.
