Vellore SP raids plantation, seizes 40 four-foot high ganja plants

An inspection of the farm revealed 40 ganja plants, which were immediately seized by the police. Gudiyattam police registered a case and are searching for the owner of the plantation, who is absconding.

VELLORE: SP S Rajesh Kannan leading a team of police personnel raided a plantain plantation and seized 4-foot high ganja plants numbering 40 in a village near Gudiyattam in pouring rain on Monday evening. Speaking to DT Next, he said, “As I was in the vicinity when we received a tip off on the special helpline created for the public to provide information on ganja and other banned products, I went to the spot myself.” As the two kilometer final stretch to the farm located at Erthangal Kalarpalayam could not be negotiated by a four-wheeler he was forced to use a two-wheeler. An inspection of the farm revealed 40 ganja plants, which were immediately seized by the police. Gudiyattam police registered a case and are searching for the owner of the plantation, who is absconding.
