Vellore Collector assures to provide test results in 2 days

Collector A Shanmuga Sundaram in a statement said that arrangements would be made to ensure that results of those who undertook COVID-19 tests were released within 48 hours.

His assurance came after the delay in test results of patients, who undergo testing for COVID-19 at Gudiyattam Government Hospital, creating a host of trouble was highlighted in these columns.. The delay creates fear among people as those test fail to follow home quarantine norms strictly. Following it, Vellore Collector Shanmuga Sundaram said that arrangements would be made to speed up the results of COVID-19 tests. While this has resulted in some respite for locals, the surge in cases has brought in a sense of disquiet, local residents revealed. The Collector released to the media a list of 96 persons who tested positive on Friday bringing the total infections in the district to 1,715. The Collector also requested that those testing voluntarily follow the home quarantine norms scrupulously to ensure no virus spread.
