Vaithilingam urges Nirmala to release bonus for Jipmer staff

Lok Sabha member from Puducherry V Vaithilingam on Friday urged Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to take steps to release ad-hoc bonus for Jipmer staff.

In a letter to Sitharaman, Vaithilingam said the employees service matters are governed by the clause 43 of Jipmer Act 2008 which clearly states that the rules as applicable to the Central government employees shall apply to the employees of the institute, he said.

Vaithilingam said till last year, the employees were given non-productivity linked (Ad-hoc) bonus by the Jipmer administration.

The Congress Lok Sabha member said that he came to know that the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had also written to you to approve the grant of ad-hoc bonus to the employees of Jipmer and AIIMS, considering their dedicated work during this COVID pandemic period.
