Two killed, one critically injured in lightning strikes in Ariyalur

Anbarasan (40), a farmer from Mallur village near Varanavasi in Keezhapazhuvur was working on the field on Wednesday. Suddenly a lightning struck Anbarasan and he died on the spot.

TIRUCHY: Two persons, including a woman, died after lightning strikes. One more sustained severe injuries and undergoing treatment in Ariyalur on Wednesday. Anbarasan (40), a farmer from Mallur village near Varanavasi in Keezhapazhuvur was working on the field on Wednesday. Suddenly a lightning struck Anbarasan and he died on the spot. Keezhapazhuvur police retrieved his body and sent it to Ariyalur GH. Similarly, Malaimani (47), a resident from Thalavai village near Senthurai was grazing the goats near a lake, when she was struck by lightning and died on the spot. Selvaraj (50) a resident from Eachangadu was also attacked by lightning and sustained severe injuries. On seeing him battling for life, the public rushed him to Pennadam GH. Thalvai police registered a case and are investigating.
