TRB to appoint 4,000 assistant professors in govt Arts & Science colleges soon

The TRB has stated that the candidates can apply for the exam from April 28 and April 29.

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TTRB) has initiated the much awaited filling of 4,000 assistant professors in government Arts and Science colleges The TTRB in its notification on Thursday said the government have granted permission to fill up 4,000 vacancies for appointment to the posts of assistant professors in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for government Arts and Science colleges and in accordance with the specified rules.

Accordingly, the candidates, who had already applied and paid the fees earlier in response to the notification in 2019 have to apply again.

However they would be exempted from the payment of registration fees. The date of commencement of applying through online mode will be from March 28 and the last date of enrollment would be on April 29.

The date of examination would be on April 4, 2024 (Tentative).

The state recruitment agency said that 69% Communal reservation will be followed vertically as per existing government rules, which is 18% shall be reserved for scheduled castes, one percent for scheduled tribes, 26.5% for backward classes (other than backward class Muslims), 3.5% for the backward class Muslims, 20% for most backward classes and denotified communities and 31% (general category) shall be filled on the basis of merit.

Similarly, 30% women reservation will be provided horizontally as per Tamil Nadu Government Servants s (Condition of Service) Act 2016.

The TTRB urged the candidates, who will be applying for the post, to go through the detailed notification in the official poral of the TTRB.
