TN clears investment worth Rs 34,200 crore; Hyundai expansion on cards

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa said the state cabinet has approved 15 new investment projects with a total cost of Rs 34,237 crore at a cabinet meeting held on February 5, said a Maalaimalar report.

Rajaa said the 15 projects are expected to generate 55,096 jobs once implemented.

The cabinet meeting was held at the Secretariat under the leadership of Chief Minister MK Stalin, with Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and other ministers.

The approved initiatives include expansion plans for Hyundai and proposals to set up industrial units in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Ranipet districts.

Rajaa said the state government is taking steps to make Tamil Nadu a leading industrial destination through these projects.
