Tirupur RTO officials seize omni bus with fake registration

The Regional Transport Office –Tirupur South officials seized an omni bus operated between Tiruchy to Coimbatore with a fake registration number.

COIMBATORE: During a vehicle check early on Monday, a team led by G Sathyamoorthi, Motor Vehicle Inspector, intercepted the bus with registration number PYO1 CF 6099 at Palladam bus stand. As inquiries revealed that the bus was operated illegally with a fake registration number, the RTO officials seized the bus after dropping the 30 odd passengers at Gandhipuram bus terminus.

The bus was operated only during late night hours. Inquiries revealed that they have been operating another bus with a fake registration number between Coimbatore and Chennai. Efforts on to apprehend it.

Both the bus driver M Anbu Selvam and owner Kannan are likely to be booked for cheating. “The evaded tax amount, up to Rs 2 lakh will be realised through auctioning the bus,” said Sathyamoorthi.COIMBATORE
