Tiruchy boy bites gelatin in biscuit wrapper, dies

In a shocking incident, a six-year-old boy was killed after biting a gelatin stick mistakenly for snacks near Thottiyam in Tiruchy on Tuesday. The police, who came to know about the incident on Wednesday, arrested three persons.

On Tuesday, brothers of the victim, who had gone fishing with two gelatin sticks, wrapped the remaining with a biscuit wrapper. The six-year-old boy, Vishnu Dev, mistook it as biscuits and had a bite. Following this, it had exploded suddenly and the boy sustained severe injuries in his mouth.On hearing the noise, the boy was rushed to the hospital in Thottiyam, where he died on the way.

Meanwhile, fearing further consequences and any legal issues, the family members cremated the body on that night itself.
