Thanjavur police arrest four drug peddlers; seize 200g ganja, bikes

A special team went to the Kudamuritti river banks at Thirupalathurai village and found four persons moving suspiciously in two bikes.

TIRUCHY: Thanjavur police on Monday arrested four persons who were peddling ganja. While the Papanasam police team led by the inspector Kalaivani was conducting vehicle inspection at Thirupalathurai road, they got information about ganja being sold widely across the region.

Soon, a special team went to the Kudamuritti river banks at Thirupalathurai village and found four persons moving suspiciously in two bikes.

Soon the police secured them and interrogated during which they were identified as Mahendran (25) from Ayyampettai, Kattai alais Kathirvel (22), Jambukeshwar (22) both from Ayyampettai and Mohammed Salman (20) from Vriddachalam .

Upon further investigation, the police found that they were in the habit of selling ganja. Soon the team arrested all the four and seized around 200 gram ganja packets and bikes.
