Thanjavur man hurt in brawl, dies in hospital

TIRUCHY: A man who sustained severe injuries during a drunken brawl succumbed after the treatment in Thanjavur on Thursday. It is said that Sirajudeen (34),a resident of Yagappa Chavadi near Soorakottai in Thanjavur, was running a provision store.

 He was waiting near Neivasal canal along with friends on December 14, where Pradeep (29) of Ammakulam came there with his friends under the influence of alcohol. Suddenly, both groups, in the heat of argument, started trading blows. Suddenly, Pradeep took a sickle and attacked Sirajudeen, severely injuring him. Sirajudeen was rushed to Thanjavur MCH. 

However, on Thursday, Sirajudeen succumbed to his injuries despite treatment. The Ammapettai police, who registered a case, arrested Pradeep. Further investigations are on
