CHENNAI: After tasting success in Tirupur, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is all set to conduct a zonal Women's Wing conference titled "Vellum Tamil Pengal" in the Delta region, one of the ruling party's strongholds.

In a statement released on Friday, the DMK said that Chief Minister and party president MK Stalin will deliver a special address at the conference, which will be led by Kanimozhi, the party's Deputy General Secretary. The conference is scheduled to be held on January 19 in Thanjavur.

DMK Principal Secretary KN Nehru will preside over the conference. Party general secretary Duraimurugan, treasurer TR Baalu, and deputy general secretaries I Periyasamy, K Ponmudy, Tiruchi Siva, and MP Saminathan are also expected to participate.

Recently, the DMK Youth Wing northern zone conference was held in Tiruvannamalai on December 14, 2025. Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, the ruling party has been showcasing its strength across the State. After holding zonal conferences in the northern and western regions, the DMK has now announced the Delta region conference. The southern region, with Madurai as the focal point, is also set to host a zonal-level meeting soon.
