Tamil Nadu releases list of holidays in 2022

The state government, on Tuesday, issued the list of public holidays for 2022. Apart from the list of 23 days, Saturday and Sundays will also be observed as holidays.

Following New Year, Pongal on Jan 14, Tiruvalluvar Day on Jan 15, Farmers Day on Jan 16, Thaipoosam on Jan 18, Republic Day on Jan 26, Annual closing of Accounts for Commercial and Coop Banks on April 1, Telugu New Year on April 2, Tamil New year, Ambedkar birth anniversary and Mahavir Jayanti on April 14, Good Friday on April 15, May Day on May 1, Ramzan on May 3, Bakrid on July 10, Moharam on Aug 9, Independence Day on Aug 15, Krishna Jayanti on August 19, Vinayagar Chaturthi on August 31, Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Ayudha Pooja on October 4, Vijayadashami on October 5, Milad Un Nabi on October 9, Deepavali on October 24 and Christmas on December 25.
