Tamil Nadu government raises marriage loans for temple staff to Rs 2 lakh

Previously, male employees were eligible for marriage loans of Rs 6,000 and women employees Rs 10,000 for their own marriages or those of their children

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has raised marriage loans for HR&CE employees. Those working in major temples get Rs 2 lakh, and staff in other temples get Rs 1 lakh.

Previously, male employees were eligible for marriage loans of Rs 6,000 and women employees Rs 10,000 for their own marriages or those of their children.

The revised amounts will apply to employees of all temples under the HR&CE department. The loans will be recovered in 36 monthly instalments in accordance with the rules.
