State’s TPR at 2.7%, highest reported in Ranipet with 5.7%

With 424 more people discharged across TN, total recoveries crossed 35.45 lakh. No new COVID fatality was reported. Death toll remained 38,048.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 304 new COVID cases including a case each from Kuala Lumpur and West Bengal on Tuesday. Total number of cases in the State crossed 35.87 lakh. Chennai had 78 new cases. Chengalpattu and Coimbatore both had 23 cases each. Other districts reported less than 20 cases.

TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.7% after 11,866 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 5.7% was reported in Ranipet. Active cases in the State stood at 4,450 with the highest number (2,231) reported in Chennai. With 424 more people discharged across TN, total recoveries crossed 35.45 lakh. No new COVID fatality was reported. Death toll remained 38,048.
