Stalin consoles Kathavarayan’s family

DMK president MK Stalin paid his respects to deceased Gudiyattam MLA S Kathavarayan at his residence on China Bazaar Street at Pernambut on Saturday morning.

Stalin, who came down to the town from Chennai, was accompanied by former minister AV Velu, Ponmudi, KN Nehru, party treasurer Durai Murugan, Vellore district secretaries AP Nanda Kumar (Central), R Gandhi (East) and Devaraj (West) and Vellore MP Kathir Anand.


After consoling Kathavarayan’s relatives, he spent about 15 minutes at the house talking to his party cadre and then accompanied the body to the burial ground on Ayakara street.


Vellore District Collector A Shanmuga Sundaram, AIADMK MLA G Loganathan (KVM Kuppam) and Commercial Taxes Minister KC Veeramani had paid their respects to the former MLA on Friday.


Shops in the busy Bazaar Street remained closed on Saturday as a mark of respect for the departed legislator.
