A senior government doctor working in Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu passed away due to Covid-19 on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital here.

A senior government doctor working in Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu passed away due to Covid-19 on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital here. Dr Sukumar was not responding to treatment.

DMK President M.K. Stalin condoled his death and alleged the incident showcased the AIADMK government's "carelessness in protecting frontline corona warriors" against the deadly virus.

Stalin urged the government to provide protective gears to medical professionals in sufficient numbers in the southern state.
